Club History
Our History
The Woman’s Club of Westwood was first organized in 1908 by The Dorcas Sewing Society. In 1919, it was nationally recognized as a part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs which is the largest volunteer women’s service organization in America. As part of the New Jersey State Federation, it belongs under the Palisades District.
Over its history, the Woman’s Club of Westwood has been responsible for founding the Westwood Public Library, funding scholarships for local young women, supporting local food banks, and collecting supplies for service men and women, children in need, and local women’s shelters.
